Edvard Grieg (1843 – 1907)
Almost 170 years ago, a little boy was born in a mountain town in Norway.
His name was Edvard Grieg.
His mother gave him his first music lessons and told him the old stories and fairy tales of Norway, his country.
When he grew up, he was a very good pianist and began to tell those old stories using music.
He wrote music to sound like Norweigan folksongs.
He lived for 64 years.
